Kindergarten

Summer seems to be a good time to go through those long forgotten closets, drawers, and even boxes. Yes, I found yet another Kindergarten photo. No trouble identifying this one - it is of course, Walter. You just have to love those naughty little boys when they are so cute!

Guess Who?

Some how, every time I go into a long forgotten closet or drawer, an old photo pops out and I have a quick flash back. If you haven't guessed yet, this is my Christopher when he was about the age of his older daughter, Audrey - either Kindergarten or first grade. He still has his baby teeth.
Audrey starts school in the next week or so and her mom is already faced with the school picture order form. She won't believe just how soon Audrey will be ordering school pictures for her own children and sending them to grandma.
This will be my last school picture year as a mom. My baby goes in for "Senior Portraits" in just a few days. I will then be able to add my last photo to the senior picture wall.

Summer begins with a bang!

The past week has been wild and crazy in lots of good ways. I went to girl's camp with the ward young women. (Tuesday- Friday) We were at Aspencrest, east of Kamas. We had a wonderful, very cold time. Two nights we were snowed on (4 of 6 wards went home after the first night). Seven girls from my ward stayed the entire 3 days with me. We are the survivors!!!!! As much fun as it was, I learned through it all that I am officially too old to every do that again. The Bishop must have had like feelings because I was released as Young Woman's President on Sunday. Thursday, Chris and Family arrived. We had a lovely time with them. This is the first time we have had everyone together in quite a long time. (See Vero's photos below).

Cousins

The Dads
Taking advantage of having Chris and family with us for a few days we tried to spend as much time together as possible. We had a baby shower for Jenn, enjoyed Father's Day together, had a swim party at Walter's apartment complex pool, saw a movie, tried to walk Jenn's baby out of the womb, and ended it all with a trip to Wheeler Farm for a picnic and to visit with the horses, cows, chickens, lambs, ducks, rabbits, and pigs.
Princesses Audrey and Belen
Audrey, Belen, and Kate had so much fun together! It was hard for them to part. Belen said, " Papi, can we go to Audrey's house in Colorado tomorrow?" When told that wouldn't work she responded with, "But Papi, you know where they live!"
Animal lovers
The boys (Joshua and Grant) also had their version of fun. Much of it centered around running away fast and trying to see who could dominate the toys. Kate joins them here as the calf licks fingers.

Emilie and I took a little tour of the church history sites in the mid west. We started with a two day visit with Chris, Kara, and the girls. Disney on Ice and the Denver Temple were our touristy things but we mostly enjoyed time with the family. A short flight to Omaha started the tour part of our trip. We visited the temple, the pioneer cemetery, the Kanesville Tabernacle, and Lewis & Clark sites while there. A drive across Iowa brought us to Nauvoo. How we loved the sites, the mighty Mississippi, and the temple here! A drive across Missouri took us to Independence. Here we saw Far West, Adam-ondi-ahman, Liberty Jail, and the sites in Independence. We had a wonderful trip, saw a lot, found that we were really good at getting lost (but we always managed to get found), and had an overall great time!
